World Echo – Backgrounds Made From Your World Ever noticed how empty Terraria's backgrounds feel? You spend hours building up a world with forests, jungles, a crimson you really should have contained by now, and behind all of it there's the same painted hill you've seen a thousand times. This mod fixes that by building the background out of your actual world. How it works World Echo scans the surface of your world and copies it into up to three background layers behind you. Each layer is a smaller, shifted copy of the real terrain, so the hills behind you are made of the same blocks you're standing on. They're just a bit further away, a bit hazier, and slightly bent and rearranged so it never feels like a mirror. If you're walking through a snowy area, there's snow and ice in the distance. If the jungle is coming up, you'll see it on the horizon before you get there. If you dig a hole or build something, the background catches up a few seconds later. Settings Everything is client-side. You can change: the number of layers how much randomness goes into the copy underground darkness hill height opacity vertical offset whether trees are drawn at all There's also an alternative "Generated" mode that builds a fake hinterland from vanilla biome templates instead of copying your world, if you want something different. Multiplayer It works fine, it's purely visual. Areas you haven't explored yet get filled in with nearby terrain until your client has loaded them.
