Flare - find out what's lagging your server Beta. A performance profiler for tModLoader, inspired by spark for Minecraft. Flare records what your server (or your own game) is doing and gives you a link to a web viewer that shows exactly which mod , and which function , is using the time. Viewer: flare.chanapong.space Features • Live TPS and MSPT (milliseconds per tick), with a 30-minute history • Entity counts per mod: NPCs, projectiles and dropped items • AI time per mod for NPCs and projectiles • Sampling profiler: records every function the game's main thread runs, from inside the game, with no extra tools • Web viewer: TPS/MSPT graphs, flame graph, "time per mod" and top functions • Shareable links: run one command, get a link, send it to a friend or a mod developer Commands Server console Command What it does lag TPS and MSPT right now lag health Entities by mod lag ai AI time by mod lag report Save and share the last 30 minutes lag profile 30 Record a 30-second profile and share it (10-120 seconds) In chat on a server (admins only) Command What it does /flare login Log in once per session /flare profile 30 Profile the server; the link is sent to your game /flare , /flare health , /flare ai , /flare report Same as the console commands In chat, for any player Command What it does /flarec profile 30 Profile your own game (for FPS or client lag) /flarec open Open the last Flare link in your browser Setup for server admins Flare creates these files in your tModLoader save folder, under LagProfiler/ (Linux: ~/.local/share/Terraria/tModLoader/LagProfiler/ ): • admin.json: set "password" to enable /flare in chat. Empty means only the server console can use Flare. • upload.json: set "enabled": false to never upload reports (you still get the report files). "url" lets you use your own Flare site. Players can change where /flarec uploads in Mods > Flare > Config . Flare is needed on both the server and clients. Players who join a server running Flare get it downloaded automatically. Privacy • Reports are only made when someone runs a command. Nothing is uploaded automatically. • Uploaded reports go to flare.chanapong.space and are deleted after 30 days . • Reports contain performance data, your mod list, tModLoader/.NET versions, OS and player count . • They do not contain player names, world names, chat or IP addresses. • Anyone with a report link can open it, so only share links with people you trust.
