Auto Translator RU automatically translates English text from Terraria mods into Russian using a local neural network. It's useful for mods without a Russian translation, as well as large mod collections where most content is already translated but some English text still remains. This mod is currently in beta! The main features are working, but some bugs and unfinished functionality may still be present. ⚠️ IMPORTANT — BEFORE INSTALLING New translations can ONLY be generated on Windows x64 (64-bit Windows)! On other platforms, you can use previously saved translations, but the neural network itself cannot generate new ones. Not recommended for very low-end PCs. Translation runs locally on your CPU. On weaker computers, processing may take significantly longer and could affect game performance. What can it translate? Almost any English text it can detect in your installed mods. The translator handles more than just standard localization files. It also attempts to translate dynamically generated text, custom interfaces, and strings written directly into a mod's code. Even if another mod uses an unusual way of displaying text, the translator will still try to translate it. Existing Russian translations take priority by default. Properly translated content won't be unnecessarily replaced by machine translation. ⚠️ Some text is still in English? That doesn't necessarily mean the translator can't handle it! Before reporting an issue, try selecting a higher level under “In-game text translation mode” in the mod's settings. This setting controls how aggressively the translator detects and modifies text. Higher levels allow it to intercept more unusual text, while lower levels are intentionally more cautious to avoid interfering with content that shouldn't be changed. If English text remains inside an existing Russian localization, you can also try enabling “Fix untranslated lines in Russian localization” . This option is disabled by default to avoid accidentally changing names and special terms. If the text still isn't translated after adjusting these settings, it might be implemented in an unusual way, or you may have encountered an actual bug. How does it work? The mod uses a fine-tuned neural translation model that runs directly on your computer. No internet connection, external servers, or online APIs are required for translation. Everything is processed locally, without sending your text anywhere. Keep playing while it translates You don't have to wait for your entire mod collection to be translated. Translation continues in the background while you play. Visible text is generally given higher priority. However, some dynamically generated descriptions may only be translated when the background queue reaches them. You can also check the translation status through a small in-game indicator. Hovering over it shows the current processing stage, progress, and additional information. Automatic cache management Completed translations are saved and reused during future sessions, so the neural network doesn't have to translate the same text repeatedly. You normally don't need to manage the cache yourself. Cached translations belonging to removed mods are automatically cleaned up, preventing unnecessary data from accumulating over time. You can also manage the cache manually through the settings. Settings You can adjust performance, manage cached translations, configure rules for individual mods, and change how aggressively the translator intercepts text. The settings include helpful explanations in both English and Russian, so feel free to explore them and find what works best for your mod collection. How good is the translation? Sometimes surprisingly good. Sometimes hilariously wrong. The neural network can confuse terminology, misunderstand context, and occasionally produce translations that are simply ridiculous. It's a relatively small model, so expecting perfect results would be unrealistic. Still, if your main goal is to understand what a mod is saying rather than get a flawless translation of every sentence, this translator might come in handy. And sometimes, you can just have a good laugh at the results.
