Death Messages Tired of "was slain"? This mod replaces the vanilla death messages with meme ones, and lets you write your own. Features • Meme death messages in chat, like "Player took an L." or "Press F to pay respects to Player." • Custom text on the death screen instead of "You were slain..." • Add your own messages in the mod config • Change the chat color and the death screen color • Turn the built-in messages and your custom messages on or off separately Adding your own messages Open Settings > Mod Configuration > Death Message Config and add lines to the custom lists. In chat messages, {0} is replaced with the player's name. • Custom Chat Messages : shown in chat when you die, for example {0} fell off. Hard. • Custom Death Screen Messages : the big text on the death screen, for example Skill issue. Each death picks one message at random from the enabled lists. If you turn everything off, the vanilla text comes back. Notes • Settings are per player (client side), so in multiplayer everyone sees the chat message set by the player who died. • The death screen text uses the vanilla death font, and chat text can only change color.
