Tired of walking into your very first Treasure Room and getting stuck with a single random item? Balanced Starter Choices replaces the lone starting pedestal with a configurable set of item choices, just like the "There's Options" pickups — pick one, and the rest vanish. WHAT IT DOES - On your first visit to the Treasure Room on Basement 1 / Cellar 1 / Downpour 1 / Dross 1 (i.e. Stage 1), the mod instantly clears any native pickups and spawns multiple collectible pedestals pulled from the normal Treasure Room item pool. - Pedestals are arranged in a clean, symmetric layout that adapts automatically to how many you choose: a single centered pedestal, a horizontal pair, a triangle, a square, a pentagon, or a perfect circular/hexagonal spread for 6 to 10 items. - Picking any one of the pedestals removes the others, exactly like the game's native "There's Options" pickups (e.g. Great Gideon, Devil/Angel deals). - Positions are automatically adjusted so pedestals never overlap walls, rocks, or other obstacles. CONFIGURABLE VIA MOD CONFIG MENU - Pedestal Amount: choose anywhere from 1 to 10 pedestals to spawn. - Enable in Greed Mode: optionally extend the same multiple-choice Treasure Room behavior to Greed Mode / Greedier Mode runs. - All settings are saved automatically between play sessions. COMPATIBILITY - Requires Mod Config Menu (Continued) to access the settings menu. - Designed for Repentance / Repentance+. Does not affect Challenge runs — the mod is automatically disabled while playing a Challenge, so custom Challenge item pools stay untouched. - Only triggers on the very first visit to the Stage 1 Treasure Room per run, so it won't interfere with re-entering rooms later or with modded floor generators.
