For repentogon support, use beta branch on github! Isaac renders at a hard 60 FPS and simulates at 30 Hz. This project lets the renderer run at your monitor's actual refresh rate and fills the frames in between with real interpolated positions. Game speed does not change by a single tick. Read this first Subscribing here is not enough. The Workshop only accepts Lua content mods, and no Lua API reaches the render loop. The part that does the work is a small native component you install by hand. REPENTOGON has the same problem. This Workshop item is the companion. It detects whether the native component is running and tells you if it isn't. On its own it changes nothing. Installing the native component Download it, then drop winmm.dll next to isaac-ng.exe in your game folder. That's the whole installation. To uninstall, delete that one file. Get the DLL From my Github: Hunchcldev/isaac-highfps How it works The engine's frame limiter is lifted so the loop runs at your display's rate, while the update cadence stays pinned to its original timing. Both of the game's internal clocks keep advancing exactly as they always did, so nothing about gameplay changes. Every entity except the player is interpolated between its previous and current real position. The player gets extrapolated instead, so your input stays immediate. Beta Reports welcome. Compatibility • Built and verified against Repentance+ v1.9.7.17 (32-bit). • Every patch site is checked against its expected bytes first. On a build it doesn't recognise it patches nothing at all and the game runs normally. • Game speed is unaffected. The logic tick stays at 30/s no matter how high the frame rate goes. • Not compatible with other mods that patch the same render loop. Reporting problems The native component writes a log to %TEMP%\isaac-highfps.log with per-second timings. Please include it when you report something.
