Where others would cower, she stands virtuous, rallying all under her banner." Overview The Hospitaller is a frontline support hero that excels in healing and defense. Similar to the Crusader, her toolkit is fairly flexible, though more defensively-oriented, and she fits well in ranks 1 or 2 of most lineups. Each of her support skills include secondary effects that make her invaluable in drawn-out fights versus enemies that inflict heavy damage/stress over time. Pros: -High base HP. -Virtue buffs for both self and allies. -Half-Sword and Divine Favor mitigate forced movement/shuffling. -Efficient healing from all ranks. -Dispel Evil offers good utility with marking parties. Cons: -Low speed. -Requires some planning with three abilities being limited-use. Combat Skills Half-Sword: x o o o | o o x x Basic melee attack, forward 1; increased damage versus Unholy. Censure: x x o o | o-o x x (3/battle) Double stun, no damage; marks self for 2 rounds. Heavenly Aura: o-o-o-o (1/battle) Increases torchlight, grants one damage block to all other heroes, applies heal over time to all heroes for 2 rounds; reduces stress taken for duration of battle. Divine Favor: o o o o (1/battle) Forward 3, heals self, grants two damage blocks, marks self and buffs virtue chance for duration of battle; if virtuous, activates riposte (base stats: 95 accuracy, 3% critical, burn 3 on hit). Word of Healing: o o o o Heals target for moderate amount; applies additional heal over time for 1 round. Dispel Evil: x x o o | o o o o Ranged attack with reduced damage and increased critical chance, breaks guard and marks target for 3 rounds. Word of Resolve: x x o o Increases torchlight, stress heals all other heroes and clears horror; increased stress heal on heroes with less than 50% hp. Camping Skills "The Hospitaller excels at healing both body and spirit. With a gentle touch, diseases and injuries are cast off, and with a kind word, the flames of courage are rekindled once more. Under her vigil, even the darkest of caverns can become holy ground where enemies dare not tread." Lay on Hands: self and ally, 4 pts Removes blight and disease from both self and ally, heals ally for 25% HP. Holy Sword: self only, 2 pts Grants +10 acc and 35% armor piercing for 4 battles. Consecration: party, 4 pts Prevents nighttime ambush, stress heals party by 10. Eternal Flame: ally, 3 pts Removes mortality debuffs, grants +15% max HP and +15% virtue chance for 4 battles; stress heals by 15 if ally is afflicted. Class Trinkets Most of the Hopitaller's trinkets focus on augmenting her durability, healing, and stress healing, though some trinkets allow her to take a more offensive role in combat. Votive Charm: +5% virtue chance, +3% crit Weathered Prayerbook: +15% stress skills, +20% stress heal received while camping, -10% damage Chaplain's Orders: +15% healing skills, +2 speed if in rank 1, buff party on ranged attack for +4% crit vs marked/stunned (3 rds) Paladin's Ring: +10% max hp, Word of Healing guards target (2 rds), +25% prot while guarding, cannot be guarded (self) Sacral Chalice: +25% healing skills, increases Word of Healing restoration amount by +1, Word of Healing cures bleed, +15% virtue chance, -15% damage Ashen Orders: on attack hit: burn 4, on kill: burn 4 (all enemies), when hit by burning enemy: burn 3, on attack miss: burn 3 (self), +15% stress taken Silver Bridal Crown (Crimson Court): +10 acc, +8% crit, stuns enemy when hit (110% chance), +10% stress taken Dried Wildflowers (Crimson Court): +25% healing skills, +20% stress skills [CC set bonus: +20% virtue chance, +2 speed] Prismatic Locket (Color of Madness): +15% max hp, +10% prot, -25% stress vs husk, at end of battle: debuff self, -4% healing and stress healing received (quest or until camp) Water of Cytharion (Color of Madness): +30% stress skills if holy water in inventory, Word of Healing cures blight, friendly skill: -3 stress, friendly skill: debuff self for -10% virtue chance Time-Worn Prayer Beads (Sunward Isles): +15% virtue chance, +15% death blow resist, grants +2 speed on melee attack (3 rounds), grants +8% damage and +4% crit when hit (3 rounds) Radiant Greatsword and Radiant Cuirass: Enabled with the Panoply of Light mod. New Generic Trinket The Oriflamme ( "Golden Flame" ) was the legendary banner of King Charlemagne in the Middle Ages. In the world of Darkest Dungeon, it is an item well-suited to any hero that leads from the front and heals stress, such as the Crusader or Hospitaller. l'Oriflamme: +15% stress skills if torch above 75, +15% stress skills if in rank 1, +10% virtue chance if torch above 75, +10% virtue chance if in rank 1 New Quirks Over the course of their adventures, heroes may acquire two new quirks related to the Hospitaller's abilities. Disciple: increases incoming healing from Word of Healing. Votary : increases incoming stress healing from Word of Resolve. Additional Information The Hospitaller is religious, and gains bonuses from the Altar of Light district. Critical hit effect: buffs all allies (excluding self) with +10% virtue chance for two rounds. Passive effect: stress heals self by 3 whenever healed to full HP. Canon name is Bradamante. Technical/Compatibility Notes This mod is not currently compatible with the Female Crusader class due to overlapping internal filenames. Not compatible with the Warden class for unknown reasons. No known issues with other mods. (She is 100% compatible with the Chaplain, as many people have asked!) Note that if the Hospitaller is Virtuous while Divine Favor is active, you will not see the usual riposte icon appear, but the riposte itself will function normally.
