Transform your runs with Mutations , a custom run modifier mod for Slay the Spire 2 that introduces high-stakes strategic deckbuilding through permanent character alterations. Core Mechanics The Mutation Budget: Start your run with a fixed mutation budget to spend on powerful character buffs. The Risk/Reward Trade-off: To unlock more budget for stronger or additional buffs, you must willingly inflict permanent de-buffs upon yourself. Run-Long Permanence: Choose wisely, the mutations you choose stick with you through every floor, elite encounter, and boss fight until the very end of the run. Key Features Custom Run Modifier: Seamlessly integrates into custom run setups for tailored difficulty and creative builds. Synergy Creation: Combine unique positive traits with crippling negative constraints to invent entirely new playstyles and broken combos. Deep Replayability: Every run offers a new mathematical puzzle of how much handicap your deck can handle in exchange for game-breaking power. How to get started • Subscribe and enable the mod (fully restart STS2 after install or update). • Start a Custom Run . • Enable the Mutations modifier. • Select your hero, pick your mutations and start climbing. At a glance • 95 pickable mutations with tighter conflict groups • Budget: start with 1 point; positives cost, negatives refund • No 1:1 positive/negative requirement • Mutations Compendium: press F8 or use the top-bar button during a run (use/win stats) • Character-gated picks (Silent: Toxic Gambler ; Ironclad: Cleave ) • Unstable Genome auto-only at 4+ positives or 4+ negatives (hidden random combat mutation each fight) • Full localization for all STS2 interface languages • All characters supported on Custom Run Currently not supported for multiplayer v0.9.9 (beta) - for STS2 public-beta . This Workshop item requires the public-beta game branch. Game updates may require a mod update. Fan-made mod - not affiliated with Mega Crit.
