English BetterCoop is a safety-first multiplayer toolkit for Slay the Spire 2: strict effective-package checks, a live co-op cockpit, coordination, actionable error diagnosis and privacy-conscious recovery/analysis. New in v0.6.0 • Peer text: send free-form Unicode text through a bounded, validated and rate-limited display-only channel. It cannot execute commands, code or game actions. • Teammate hands: cycle through consenting teammates from one cockpit control. Consent resets when the roster changes. • Experimental rollback: the host can checkpoint completed room nodes and re-enter one through STS2's native loaded-run flow. It is disabled by default, host-only, exact-roster and protected by two-phase control, SHA-256 verification and an emergency recovery copy. • High-player validation: supports the exact Multiplayer Limit Break v0.1.3/RitsuLib contract, preserves the RitsuLib packet trailer and uses host-relayed capability proofs above four players. • Seed/RNG analysis: compares session-salted seed tags, stream call counters and checkpoint summaries without advancing STS2 RNG. Raw seed reveal is explicit and local-only. Guard, cockpit and diagnosis • Hashes loaded Mod bytes, relative paths, sizes, assembly identity/order and audited Sts2SkinManager PCK bytes/order; equal IDs and versions alone are not enough. • Revalidates fresh/loaded lobbies, ready/start gates and rejoins; failures and unsupported builds fail closed. • Names missing, extra and same-ID/different-content Mods when evidence exists instead of guessing from log order. • The HUD and Ctrl+F7 cockpit show connection health, wait reasons, progress, public teammate state, recent network history, alerts and environment identity. Ctrl+F8 captures a bounded local health snapshot. • Chinese/English fatal popups explain root cause, evidence, confidence and next action. Redacted reports, local comparison, Mod Doctor, Harmony maps, known issues and A/B plans support troubleshooting. Safety and current limits • Every player needs the same BetterCoop version and matching effective Mod files. Update together, fully restart and create a new lobby. • Built for STS2 v0.109.1. The tested high-player profile is Multiplayer Limit Break v0.1.3 plus RitsuLib v0.4.66. • Isolated 5/8-player join, ready, embark and protocol negotiation passed. Full two-turn combat, native 5/8 save/load rollback, real Steam five-player, MP16 and long-soak gates remain pending. • Rollback is experimental and disabled by default; keep it off for important runs until those gates pass. • No telemetry or raw logs are uploaded. Peer text is bounded/transient and reports redact paths, endpoints, credentials and Steam IDs. BetterCoop is not anti-cheat or remote attestation.
