Squall from Final Fantasy VIII, shares many mechanics from Final fantasy VIII such as limit breaks, Junctioning GF and Magic. The Starter Deck is shown below. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Magic Cards Magic cards are attacks and spells from the original FF8 with ported logic to STS2. Magic cards can be generated in battle by "draw" cards, as well as combat rewards. Fire => Damage + Vulnerable Ice => Damage + Weak Lightning => Damage + Energy Cure => Heal HP Drain => Heal 1HP on hit. Protect => Large Block Haste => Max Energy and 1 extra card draw per turn Ultima => Massive AOE damage I've called Fire, Fira and Firaga => Fire-1, Fire-2, Fire-3 to make it easier for non FF players to understand. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Junctions There are 3 "Junctions" (Power cards) which apply bonuses to other cards when they are in play. All 3 can be active at once, however playing Ifrit twice for example does not stack any effects. Ifrit => Fire cards cost 1 less and grant 1 Strength when played Shiva => Ice cards cost 1 less and grant increased block effectiveness when played Quezacotl => Lightning cards cost 1 less and draw 1 card when played. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Limit Breaks Limit Breaks are powerful cards which have additional effects when your max HP is below 33%. Additionally, they cost 1 less below 66% HP, and cost 2 less below 33% HP. I wanted them to at least be playable and not dead cards if you weren't low HP. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Memes Full of references to the game, I want it to be a surprise so I won't spoil them, but one we can all relate to is shown below.
