⚠️ This mod is built for the public-beta branch only. Right-click Slay the Spire 2 in your Steam library → Properties → Betas, and opt into public-beta before installing. Not guaranteed to work on the default public branch. A Cthulhu Mythos-themed content mod that adds 8 new "Ancients," each modeled after a different entity from the Mythos: Dagon, Yig, Hastur, Cthugha, Shub-Niggurath, Nyarlathotep, Yog-Sothoth, and Nodens. Each Ancient appears in Act 2 or Act 3, has its own distinct personality and dialogue (some are patient and paternal, some are warm on the surface and unsettling underneath, some are stern but genuinely protective), and offers relics through the exact same structure vanilla Ancients use - fixed 3-slot pools you choose from. What's included: 80 relics - 10 per Ancient, each with effects and flavor text tied to that specific Ancient's own mythos (venom and serpents, purifying fire, masks and madness, the deep sea, fecundity and overgrowth, forbidden knowledge and doors beyond time, the hunt and moonlight, and more). 7 dedicated cards - several relics grant a powerful dedicated card of their own, presented as a full-illustration "Ancient" rarity card in the same visual style as vanilla cards like Apotheosis or Wish. Every relic in this mod is exclusive to these 8 Ancients - none of them appear in the normal relic reward pool, so you'll only ever see them by actually finding and talking to an Ancient. Requires BaseLib 3.4.7+. Currently in beta - bug reports and balance feedback are welcome. This mod was made with the help of AI, for both code and art (relic icons, card illustrations, and the Ancients' portraits). ⚠️ Some art is still unfinished: all 80 relic icons and all 7 dedicated cards now have illustrated art, but the 8 Ancient map node icons (shown on the run map) are still temporary placeholders.
