The Apothecary A new character for Slay the Spire 2: an orb-channeling apothecary who poisons enemies and hides behind alchemical shields. Orbs • Corrosive - Poisons enemies. • Aegis - Gains Block. • Catalyst - Strengthens your other orbs; its Evoke poisons everyone and shields you. • Amber - Produces Reagents and Energy. • Unstable Catalyst / Unstable Aegis - Much stronger, but decay after two turns. Orbs react with their neighbours when Evoked (Corrosive next to Aegis gains Block, Catalyst amplifies its neighbours). Mechanics • Controlled Reaction (character passive) - the first time each turn an orb gives you Block, a random enemy is Poisoned. • Reagents - a second resource from Evoking orbs, spent by special cards (max 6). • Distill (trigger an orb's passive without removing it), Consume (remove an orb without Evoking it) and Infuse (an orb's numbers rise by 50% until it leaves). • Brewing, Transmutation and Volatile woven in as twists on the Poison and Block cards. Content • About 100 cards, 24 relics, 3 potions and a character event with run-long orb transformations. • Works on both the main and public-beta Steam branches. Required • BaseLib - Required framework for this character mod. Optional co-op mods • Duet Library - Contains the bonus duet cards for this pairing. Gameplay requires at least two players, with both characters in the same multiplayer party; these bonuses do not work in solo runs. • The Arcanist - The companion character for this mod's duet cards. Use both characters together with Duet Library to access those cards in co-op. The Apothecary remains playable without either optional mod. Duet cards are hidden and unavailable without Duet Library. The card library shows them only when both compatible character mods are installed, subject to normal discovery. Duets appear last in the compendium and use violet-magenta trim; rarity and layout are unchanged. Existing card and other model IDs are retained, but previous saves can still report a mod-list mismatch. Start a new run after updating; old saves may not load.
