Thornbloom — The Midnight Flower A new two-phase boss for Overgrowth. Thornbloom grows a garden that gets more dangerous the longer you leave it alive. Briar Hearts strengthen the boss. Venom Buds poison your party. Cut the pods down, manage their Thorns, or race Thornbloom before the garden overwhelms you. Pods enter with Block and advertise their first effect, giving you a turn to respond. At half health, the fight changes: pods gain protection, Thornbloom transforms, and the music intensifies. What’s included • A custom boss with two phases. • Two pod types with growing effects and alternating active turns. • Custom artwork, animations, attack effects, and music. • An optional Force Thornbloom boss checkbox at character select. Finding Thornbloom Normally, Thornbloom joins Overgrowth’s boss pool. Want to guarantee the encounter? Enable the checkbox before starting a new run. Act 1 will be Overgrowth, with Thornbloom waiting at the end. You still play through the act normally. Playing with friends The host chooses whether to force the encounter. Everyone in the lobby sees that choice. All players need the same version of Thornbloom and a matching mod setup. Installation Subscribe, wait for Steam to finish downloading, then restart the game. Start a new run to use the boss-selection option. Existing runs keep their selected boss. Your saves and progression Slay the Spire 2 uses separate progression for modded play. Enabling this mod can look like a fresh start, but it does not erase your normal save. Disable gameplay mods and restart the game to return to your normal progression. Workshop installations use this same modded profile. If you already played with a local copy under the same Steam account and profile, that modded progress should carry over. When switching to the Workshop version, remove the local copy so the mod is not installed twice.
