The Overgrown In an alternate world, the Defect shut down at the foot of the Spire, and nature took the chassis. It woke up full of roots and moss. An alternate-world Defect, in the style of Into the Spireverse . Pick it with the arrow above the Defect's portrait on the character select screen. Works on its own or alongside Into the Spireverse (in either load order): if another mod gives the Defect an alternate, they share one arrow. Not made by or affiliated with the Into the Spireverse team. Seeds replace Orbs • Sow a Seed into an orb slot. Seeds Grow one Stage at the start of each turn until they Bloom (Stage 3). • Harvest (Evoke) a Seed for an effect that scales with its Stage. A full row pushes out your oldest Seed, just like the Defect. • Rotseed - rots the lowest-HP enemy each turn; Harvest: heavy damage to it. • Thornseed - Block each turn once grown, more on Harvest. • Sporeseed - damage to ALL enemies each turn and on Harvest. • Sunseed - Harvest for Energy. A Bloomed Seed left unharvested for two turns Wilts : it releases half its Harvest and becomes a Husk, which a few cards feed on. Lightning and Plasma are gone. Focus scales Seeds (flat on passives, per Stage on Harvests), and Deep Roots gives them more Stages. Content 80 cards plus 10 shared Defect cards (the same pool size and mix as the Defect), 7 relics, 3 potions. Card art is recolored vanilla art, the same approach Into the Spireverse uses. If Art Roller is installed, the recolors are registered with it so you can tweak them in its editor. Balance Numbers were tuned with a combat simulator against every encounter in the game (all 80, extracted from the game's own monster code), drafting decks card by card the way players do and comparing them against vanilla Ironclad, Silent and Defect, plus a per-card sweep against vanilla Defect cards of the same rarity. Feedback from real runs is very welcome. Requires BaseLib. The Overgrown wears whatever Defect art you have installed, recolored green with ivy painted for the base Defect.
