The Defect is my fourth favorite character in Slay the Spire. However, its original card pool is filled with a large number of Orb cards, which clogs up my draws and delays the setup for a physical build. To solve this problem, I created this mod: Streamlined Card Pool: Removed the vast majority of Orb cards that interfere with physical builds, keeping only Orbs that provide energy. New Mechanics Fragmentation: For every 3 Focus you lose cumulatively during combat, gain 1 layer of . Your single-target attack cards will be split into (1 + layers) hits. The base damage will be divided evenly, but each hit will fully benefit from Strength scaling! The first hit targets the selected enemy, and the subsequent fragmented hits will strike random enemies. Almighty: Normally, the subsequent hits from Fragmentation do not trigger the card's special effects. Activating this mode removes that restriction. Bias: Lose 1 Focus each turn. Every time a fragmented attack lands, gain Block equal to your Bias layers. New Relics Backup Hidden Energy (Starter Relic): Once per combat, the first time you lose HP, channel Plasma. New Cards Almighty: Rare Power card, 2 energy. Removes the special effect restrictions of fragmented attacks. Upgraded: also gain 1 layer of . Card Reworks Defragment: Remove all your . If successfully removed, double your Dexterity; Upgraded: Gain Dexterity equal to your Fragmentation layers before doubling it. Biased Cognition: Gain 1 layer of Bias. Upgraded: also gain 1 layer of Fragmentation. Claw: While "Almighty" mode is active, the subsequent fragmented hits of Claw will stack temporary damage based on your layers.
