INTRODUCTION A polearm-wielding warrior from a distant land. The Dragoon is a fully realized custom character paying homage to the Dragoons of Final Fantasy as well as general Final Fantasy combat and world-building, while still retaining a bit of her own identity. This character mod contains 75+ cards and 1 unique potion. She also has minor co-op integration if playing Together In Spire . She is the third in my series of modded characters that I have been working on since November 2025, alongside The O.W.L. and The Blessed . MECHANICS & FEATURES • Jump: Taken straight from Final Fantasy games, Jump sees the character leap into the air the turn it's used, becoming immune to damage for the rest of the turn, only to crash down, damaging enemies and instantly ending the player's turn on turn 2. It is a tactical move, especially useful as a finisher or to avoid a strong enemy hit but be careful, it does leave you exposed on landing! • Limit Break: Yes, Limit Break is a card from the Ironclad, but did you know that long before that, it's historically been used as the ultimate/finisher gauge in many Final Fantasy games? Well, it's returning in grand fashion here for the Dragoon. Build Limit Break pips from attacking or losing HP to unleash deadly finishers modeled straight after Final Fantasy Limit breaks such as Desperate Blitz (FF6), Highwind (FF7, FF13) Trance (FF9) and more! • Critical Strike: A staple in many RPGs over the years, Critical Strikes cause the player to deal 2x damage on a lucky hit. Critical Strike percent can be gained from various Dragoon-specific relics and cards. • Crests: Similar in ways to Circle cards from The Cursed or Kindling cards from The Collector , Crests are unplayable cards that grant buffs/powers while in hand. You can only have 1 Crest in hand at a time, with any draws skipping over other crests in your draw pile until your hand is Crestless. • Breath cards: Some of my favorite abilities of Dragoons in Final Fantasy or, let's face it, dragons in any lore, is elemental breath. With many names taken straight from the games, Breath cards are conjurable 0-cost tokens. Each Breath card applies an AoE buff or debuff as well as damage or healing. The full Breath suite contains: Fire Breath, Thunder Breath, Blizzard Breath, Bad Breath, Stone Breath, Holy Breath, and even Atomic Breath. (Yes, the last one is a Godzilla reference.) • Gambling: When I think of Dragoons, I think of Cid Highwind. When I think of Cid Highwind, I think of airships. When I think of airships? I think of Setzer Gabbiani, the casino-operating gambler of the airship, The Blackjack. Whether it's in the form of hoping for the right Breath card, gaining random amounts of buffs/energy/draws from the dragoon-specific card Airship Armaments, or playing cards straight from your draw and discard with North Wind and South Wind, prepare for a random, albeit exciting, time playing this character!
